  • Leading delivery Life work on a wide range of consulting projects within actuarial, underwriting / claims, advanced analytics, pricing and strategy domains.
  • Support practice leaders with new business and sales initiatives. Lead new business proposals, from planning responses, to leading orals to delivering client presentations.
  • Supervising and managing actuarial Consultants and junior staff during audit engagements with the objective of introducing new technologies such as Robotics Process Automation to drive efficiency.
  • Staying abreast of technical life industry developments like LICAT, DCAT, ORSA, etc. as well as leading proposals and engagements in fields such as InsurTech, Advanced Analytics, Robotics Process Automation, Blockchain and IFRS 17.
  • Developing Life market offerings by contributing with innovative approaches to existing Firm initiatives and other proofs-of-concept.
  • Coaching and developing Senior Consultants, Consultants and Analysts by developing a high-performing team culture.
  • A Masters / Bachelor’s degree from a leading University in the fields Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Data Science.
  • A Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or equivalent. Relevant post-fellowship experience coupled with post-actuarial credentials like an MBA, CERA or CFA.
  • Range of 7 to 10 years Life working experience in the industry within an insurance company, reinsurer, insurance broker or accounting / consulting firm.
  • Proficiency / mastery within the following “traditional” actuarial disciplines: pricing, reserving, capital management, reinsurance and /or analytics.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other applications in the Microsoft office suite.
  • Knowledge of actuarial software packages like AXIS, PathWise, ATLAS or MATLAB.
  • Programming skills and visualization tools like Tableau an asset.
  • Comfortable and experienced presenting technical concepts to C-Suite executives, boards and internal committees. Superior written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage teams and/or engagements with concurrent priorities whilst keeping team members’ moral high.

  • When required by business needs, willingness to travel within Canada and abroad to support client engagements.
  • Overseas working experience, French and/ or Spanish a plus.
