  • Pricing responsibilities of the analysis, modelling, preparation of quotes and documentation of the work for assigned clients in the mortality solutions line of business.
  • Provides consulting services and assist clients in product development in the mortality solutions line of business.
  • Works with the pricing support positions to regulate work flow and to enhance their development.
  • Assists in the management of client relationships during the quoting process.
  • Responsibility for and oversight of the transfer of information on recently accepted mortality solutions life quotes to the accounting, administrative, and corporate actuarial areas.
  • Participates in analysis and decision making on inforce business to assure continued profitability.
  • Participates in development of actuarial pricing assumptions allowing the company to compete on a profitable basis in a highly competitive market.
  • Provides input and analysis, when appropriate, for life insurance related activity in the Senior Markets and Financial Solutions lines of business.
  • Represents company at industry functions.
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries or its equivalent.
  • Minimum five years’ experience pricing various kinds of insurance and annuities.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PC software and complicated spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, manipulate, and interpret complex, technical documents and data. Ability to respond effectively to the inquiries from employees and management.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of information in an organized manner, identify issues or inconsistencies, fill in any information gaps and draw accurate sound conclusions. Needs to quickly determine the most efficient design for a complicated deal based on product design and potential retrocession.
  • Significant experience in pricing life and annuity reinsurance opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. statutory, tax and GAAP accounting for life and annuity products.
  • Working knowledge of retrocession including tax and capital requirements.
  • General management duties.
