RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define, develop and implement Group Annuity Contract specific best practices and procedures which align with benefit specifications and associated plan or client requirements and comply with new or existing federal and state regulatory laws.
  • Assist Transition team with onboarding of new pension risk transfer plans and validate data in servicing systems.
  • Process and handle monthly verifications for death and monthly reconciliation of movement files for split deals.
  • Assist or handle complex life event cases including QDRO’s and benefit quoting.
  • Identify systemic issues. Research problematic cases or certificates and provide resolution.
  • Use knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle to help identify and document system deficiencies and enhancements.
  • Work with Information Technology to develop and test system modifications.
  • Define project scope, issues and options.
  • Present to management for decision.
  • Accurately plan and appropriately execute projects.
  • Define project test conditions and parameters.
  • Develop accurate and complete test plans.
  • Conduct testing according to plan.
  • Take action to identify, track and report issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare system requirements, processes and recommendations.
  • Promptly provide comments, feedback and recommendations.
  • Research, prepare, distribute and present incoming complaints to include state insurance department inquiries to corporate Complaint Committee.
  • Provide verbal and/or written communication to the complainant, of the committee’s decision.
  • Work with the tax department to ensure state and federal taxation rates are up to date and maintained in the admin system.
  • Consult with Administrative Services management, Underwriting, Actuarial, Legal, Finance and Information Technology, on contractual, regulations, technology, and/or processes to resolve business requirements as directed.
  • Work with external vendors and clients as needed.
  • Complete quarterly goals and special projects, as assigned.
  • Train staff, as assigned.
  • Develop and document procedure manuals for Retirement Services.
  • Complete all other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • College preferred.
  • LOMA 280 and 290 required within 1 year of employment.
  • ACS designation within 2 years of employment.
  • ALMI designation preferred.
  • CEBS designation preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in benefit outsourcing or life insurance industry.
  • Project lead/analyst experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing skills.
  • Proficient Knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically in excel.

  • Ability to function in a fast paced environment.
  • Flexible with regard to work hours and overtime.
