  • Provide pricing and product development governance and support to the individual businesses in the scope of International Markets, for all products other than medical.
  • This support mainly involves review, feedback, and sign-off on work completed by the local actuarial teams in the various countries, and also involves product or pricing development work.
  • The role works closely with the company’s corporate team in the U.S. to ensure that product and pricing work complies with corporate guidelines.
  • Financial viability assessment of M&A initiatives, determining strategic fit, organizing and conducting financial due diligence for M&A or divestitures as required.
  • Participate in the development of market business plans and initiatives, assessment of new markets, and analysis of business opportunities.
  • Perform analysis and assist in recommendations concerning the due diligence process and/or specific deals under review.
  • Evaluate and support business cases, measurement and monitoring systems.
  • The scope of strategic initiatives includes both organic and non-organic growth opportunities as well as financial flexibility improvement initiatives.
  • Organic growth initiatives may include insurance distribution channel expansion, new market entry, new digital business platform investments, or new business models. Non-organic initiatives may include M&A, joint ventures or divestitures. Financial flexibility improvement initiatives might be restructuring projects or similar.
  • The jobholder would actively participate in FMRs, the biennial reviews of local actuarial teams’ practices and processes.
  • These are on site audits of actuarial functions, with recommendations tracked and shared with the U.S. corporate team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • FSA or equivalent internationally recognized actuarial qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of insurance products, and strong technical skills with expert knowledge of pricing methodologies, product development and reserving.
  • Strong skills building financial models.
  • Ability to build good relationships with business partners.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • Good understanding of the company's international businesses preferred.
