RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Produce work of a high standard which is accurate and timely.
  • Assist in data compilation and analysis.
  • Assist in performing actuarial analyses as directed, which may involve any of the following:
  • analysis / valuation of policy liabilities in relation to business and/or industry results;
  • analysis of automobile insurance trends;
  • analysis of automobile insurance rates;
  • filing of proposed automobile rate changes;
  • calculation of monthly actuarial provisions for financial reporting purposes;
  • projection of monthly results for financial reporting purposes;
  • document all work and spreadsheets / programs etc. clearly and fully;
  • Provide support for any associated reporting internally and externally.
  • Assist in supporting needs of, and work collaboratively with, external actuarial resources as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of meetings related to various committees as needed.
  • Provide actuarial support to other departments.
  • Continue to develop technical skills, pass actuarial exams, and meet all professional standards and requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University or college degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance related to any of the following: valuation / reserving / trending / ratemaking / rate filing.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and decisions clearly and effectively, with particular emphasis on strong written communication skills.
