RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively review and improve Product Development Process to help countries improve productivity.
  • Manage and enhance incidence rate library to support product pricing across Asia.
  • Perform product management portfolio to optimize key financial metrics in each country.
  • Lead the pricing and product development on broader or unique initiatives across Asia.
  • Conduct regional wise market research and provide insight on product trends and development across the Asia region.
  • Actively connect with BUs and provide supports including product pricing and management, consultation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Bring in innovation and creativity into product development and pricing by using the latest techniques and tools, different reinsurance structures, etc.
  • Maintain effective relationship with the local Head of Product and the broader development team to develop product direction and the specific plans that will results in solid execution.
  • Ensure the latest and leading edge techniques are adopted in pricing as well as risk management by staying abreast of the product developments and implementation in each BU.
  • Work with local, regional and/or corporate experts to bring in risk management or other techniques that expand product development options.
  • Provide overall support to Chief Product Actuary in the executive of regional product strategy.
  • Provide on the job training and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Participate in regional rotating assignments to support BU operation and product development.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in individual pricing and product development, with exposure to several lines of business.
  • AXIS model is preferred.
  • Canadian GAAP knowledge is preferred.
  • FCIA and/or FSA.
  • Flexibility in taking assignments in regional office and Bus.
  • Continuously demonstrate leadership and self -initiative; constantly look at for opportunities and innovations to improve product portfolio and client experience.
  • Work with little and remote supervision.
  • Adapt to frequent changes in environment, teams, cultures, etc.
  • Demonstrate strong teaching and training skills in handing technical actuarial issues.
  • Establish credibility as Product and Pricing Expert, earn respect and able to effectively influence local pricing practices - must be perceived as a highly qualified and knowledgeable product actuarial resource.
  • Good communication skills and demonstrating cultural sensitivity recognizing diversity of cultural distinctions in the region with an ability to work effectively in each.
  • Stay on top of the direction of the product development and product techniques throughout the company, including ideas outside the region, and leveraging to Asia advantage.
  • Keep abreast knowledge about all of the markets in the region and the technical aspects required for product design and pricing.
  • Remain knowledgeable on financial actuarial matters that impact pricing and product design.
