RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use machine learning, hypothesis testing, and other data science techniques to develop solutions to positively impact the Company.
  • Assess strategic insurance technology opportunities, design and run pilots/experiments, and work with business partners and IT to drive adoption of innovative technologies and tools.
  • Identify new business strategies by connecting emerging technologies and machine learning techniques to understand customer and agent behaviors.
  • Integrate internal and external data of varying quality to create highly usable datasets, and find new ways for the business to leverage data in processes and decision making.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to staff in statistical modeling and data analyses.
  • Communicate and document statistical analyses and methods in a logical and understandable manner for non-analytical business users and executive decision makers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS/MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • Experience with SQL and analytical programming languages such as R or Python. Familiarity with Tensorflow, VB, ASP/PHP preferred.
  • An applied understanding of advanced statistical models, predictive analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • 7+ years of applicable industry experience. Relevant experience outside the insurance industry is encouraged. An actuarial background with a proven experience in advanced analytics is also acceptable.
  • Hands-on experience developing data science solutions. In particular, a proven track-record of building solutions alongside non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to research and evaluate emerging technologies and stay current on state-of-the-art algorithms and models.
