  • Undertaking reviews of prudential and financial filings by regulated insurance entities to evaluate compliance with existing laws, regulations, policies, codes, plans and procedures, and preparing reports for discussion and action.
  • Performing technical reviews and analysis on complex commercial and technical areas.
  • Developing plans and executing on-site reviews and prudential meetings with insurance entities.
  • Monitoring insurance entities for compliance through review, analysis and timely direct follow-up with company representatives.
  • Preparing final reports and discussing review findings with management and insurers.
  • Providing advice and senior level technical support to regulatory and operational teams.
  • Providing first-line leadership to a team of Senior Analysts.
  • Motivating, monitoring performance, and overseeing the development of team members in the achievement of departmental objectives.
  • Carrying out other related work and special projects as assigned by management.
  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution or professional body.
  • A minimum of seven years relevant post graduate experience, of which at least three years should be at a senior level working within a regulated financial services business, preferably in general insurance/ reinsurance and/ or as a financial services regulator.
  • Experience conducting and participating in on-site reviews, forensic accounting reviews, investigations and inspections.
  • Proficiency with insurance accounting for reviewing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Experience of evaluating corporate governance structures, risk management frameworks and/ or internal controls.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • An understanding of the need for accountability.
  • A willingness to work outside normal business hours as required.
