  • Act as key contact point for Asia component of L&H Global New Business Steering activity, acting as L2 owner where appropriate.
  • Take regional responsibility for the delivery of a suite of high profile global and local initiatives, with a focus on new business steering.
  • Build and co-ordinate an effective XFT to support all facets of portfolio ownership in the region.
  • Independently drive and deliver both tactical and strategic projects as mandated by the Head of L&H Products, Head L&H Pricing Office Asia as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain a leadership role within the L&H community in Asia, reaching beyond traditional organizational boundaries to support the business.
  • Further strengthen L&H Asia's credibility both with internal stakeholders and the wider market.
  • Act as a conduit between Group functions and the L&H Asia teams, with a particular focus on global initiatives and longer term strategic developments. Help ensure the Asia region's view is well represented at all times.
  • Support the professional development of actuaries and students within L&H Asia, proactively seeking ways to develop junior talent.
  • Working effectively with a cross-functional team of experts from a range of disciplines and locations.
  • Role may involve limited travel.
  • Qualified Actuary with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of direct insurance an advantage.
  • Excellent technical skills, across the spectrum of L&H business protection across Asia.
  • Detailed understanding of actuarial methodology including pricing and product development, reporting, enterprise risk management and economic capital.
  • Familiarity with accounting standards and processes used by the company.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to quickly build credibility with and influence key stakeholders from a variety of disciplines and at all levels of seniority.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, able to quickly and accurately distil and clarify complex issues.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to quickly switch between different focus, and able to bring an innovative approach to problems where no established practice currently exists.
  • Ability to use sound actuarial judgement in a commercial environment.
  • Able to work independently and balance multiple competing high priority projects - organization, prioritization and planning skills will be crucial.
