RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, coordinate and manage the development of Global Financial Solutions’ pension risk transfer market strategies through acquisition of reinsurance accounts in the pension risk transfer market.
  • Global Financial Solutions’ pension risk transfer market expert.
  • Partners with Global Financial Solutions Marketing and Transaction services to create strategic marketing plans and prospecting of new accounts in the US.
  • Partner with the marketing staff to determine client needs and objectives, understand and analyze client information, and negotiate and structure customized reinsurance solutions to meet those needs and objectives.
  • Understand pension risk transfer market trends in core and potential markets to assist senior management in understanding risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee US contract negotiations, both new and proposed revisions for pension risk transfer client accounts.
  • Works closely with MTS unit to ensure effective and efficient quoting process and high level of customer service.
  • Partner closely with Pricing to identify value propositions to the pension risk transfer market.
  • Be an external expert for the company’s pension risk transfer.
  • Creates brand awareness of the company’s expertise in the pension risk transfer market through presentations at industry events, hosting industry seminars for clients, publishing industry articles, developing marketing materials, etc.
  • Positions the company as the trusted advisor through deep market expertise and value added where possible and appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Actuarial Science, Administration, Marketing or related degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • 15+ years of life/annuity insurance/reinsurance experience.
  • ASA or FSA accreditation preferred.
  • Master’s Degree, MBA preferred.
  • FLM, CLU preferred.
  • CPA accreditation preferred.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the US pension risk transfer market preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of Global Life insurance and reinsurance markets.
  • Ability to design and structure reinsurance solutions that meets the company’s risk/return requirements as well as client needs. This requires actuarial and accounting skills to address risk issues associated with proposed reinsurance transactions.
  • Highly advanced persuasion skills when working with internal and external partners to resolve issues/problems.
  • Highly advanced ability to investigate, analyze and solve complex problems/issues
  • Exceptional skills in managing multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all associates and management at all levels and by external contacts.
