  • Calculates monthly liabilities and incurred but not reported reserves for Health, Dental, Life and Disability benefits.
  • Prepares data required to perform actuarial analysis, statistical analysis and pricing.
  • Assists in completing the actuarial experience studies and corporate reports required by the regulators and insurance associations such as the Financial Institutions Commission, Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association and the Canadian Drug Insurance Pooling Corporation.
  • Evaluates client specific experiences, proposes and models plan design changes and calculates premium rates based on innovative solutions.
  • Supports special quotes requests.
  • Assists in the design, development, testing, maintenance, training, documentation and troubleshooting of programmed tools for Underwriting and sales functions.
  • Represents the company’s interests while interacting with consultants, auditors and regulators to resolve enquiries of projects, audits and reviews.
  • Supports product development for Critical Illness, Life, Disability, Extended Health and Dental Group Benefits.
  • Supports product development for Travel, Health and Dental Individual Plans.
  • Produces and analyzes statistical information from the client reporting tools.
  • Manages the database and actuarial applications development.
  • Codes queries in Microsoft Analysis Services to support actuarial modeling and experience reporting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or Master of Science program with Actuarial major or other related fields if there is proven knowledge of actuarial concepts.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in group benefits.
  • Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or the Society of Actuaries.
  • Database programming skills on MS Office Visual Basic, Access, SQL or MS Analysis Services.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • IFRS17 knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • GGY AXIS knowledge an asset.
