RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the data science team in client stakeholder engagements to complete actionable and high-impact analytics projects across a variety of business areas such as claims, product and pricing, human resources and marketing.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics to drive better business outcomes.
  • Develop and bring out the full potential of the team, helping them to become better data scientists by guiding them through each project engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in Operation Research, Applied Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Economics, Physics or related quantitative field or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a predictive modeling or advanced analytics role, 2 years of experience leading or coaching a team
  • Creative, inquisitive, comfortable with changing priorities and able to learn quickly and independently
  • Curious about data and determined in solving business problems through data science
  • Passionate about the business, and able to communicate analytical thoughts and ideas with different areas of the business, involve them in problem solving and influence their decision making
  • Project management, work planning and time management skills are a must
  • Expert in selecting the optional data and analytics solution for the business problem at hand
  • Competent with R or Python modeling packages
  • Working knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms
  • Experienced with deep learning, optimization construct would be an asset
  • Programming language for prototyping such as Java, VBA, Python would be an asset
  • Knowledge of big data infrastructure and related technology would be an asset
