RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gain familiarity with each of the property underwriting teams and their modelling procedures.
  • Ensure in-force exposure is accurately captured for assigned classes within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide prompt and accurate management reporting.
  • Liaise with underwriters and the Offshore cleansing team to resolve queries with respect to the cleansing of data and monitor the cleansing queue to ensure accounts are available within the agreed service levels timetables.
  • Undertake quality control over the work performed offshore and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Prioritize the modelling of individual risks as needed by each underwriting team, ensuring results are produced in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Apply the modelling standardizations when analyzing risks.
  • Provide clear explanations of any major result movements.
  • Supply exposure information for outward reinsurance submissions.
  • Perform sensitivity testing, model validation, and rate review projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field.
  • Catastrophe modelling experience of 2-5 years preferred.
  • Familiarity with AIR software is required.
  • Advanced IT skills, especially MS Excel and SQL.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical skills.
  • A strong understanding of the re/insurance industry.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate to individuals with differing levels of modelling understanding.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Hard working and willingness to go above and beyond to meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English is required.
