  • Manage the reserving or pricing process for the assigned Bus and lines and provides support and advice to the APAC Chief Reserving Actuary and other reserving actuaries as needed.
  • Under minimal supervision, support reserving, portfolio profitability management, reinsurance, or market-facing business units in complex environments and lines of business.
  • With appropriate review, coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analysis including loss and premium projections, consultation on actuarial models, or capital modeling.
  • Support Finance, market-facing business units, Claims, Risk, Capital Management, and other functions on reserving and strategic business decisions.
  • Be a leader in the APAC roll-out of the global Vision 2020 project, including the implementation of IFRS17 and other relevant accounting and actuarial standards.
  • Provide consultation and technical expertise on actuarial models and risk issues.
  • Ensure that the claims provisioning processes for assigned Business Unit/s are appropriately governed in accordance with Group, Regional, and Local regulatory policies.
  • Provide assistance on Planning where appropriate and drive the actuarial Plan view for various Business Units or lines of business as needed.
  • Under minimal supervision, assist in the monitoring of portfolio performance relative to Plan and forecasts.
  • With appropriate review, coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses including trend analyses, reinsurance analyses and analyses of loss and expense reserves, as it relates to pricing adequacy and strategic direction.
  • Interface with regulators and auditors as applicable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Other, Sciences.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Fully qualified actuary in a locally recognized actuarial body.
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written and hands-on experience in developing related policies.
  • Strong business management background and people management skills, including development of high-performing teams and/or virtual team.
  • Proven high-level ability to negotiate, challenge and influence.
  • Excellent Actuarial, Financial and Statistical knowledge.
  • Excellent in MS Excel and Database management.
  • Good knowledge of SAS or similar packages.
  • Good knowledge of general insurance business and products.
