RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides ongoing support, including sizing and validation of Cost of Care Initiatives, to business unit leaders.
  • Works closely with our business partners to help them understand the risks and impacts of medical policy decisions and other cost of care initiatives.
  • Presents models during workgroup calls and explains analyses to a diverse audience.
  • Works with and supports counterparts in other states and for the enterprise.
  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
  • Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit consulting, and special projects.
  • Designs and completes special projects such as developing and maintaining experience-rating formulae and creating and/or reviewing alternative settlement formulate and risk sharing models.
  • Responsible for recommendations on pricing, marketing, product design, claims, premium and enrollment administration of business unit.
  • Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Actuarial Analyst III:
  • Requires a BS/BA degree.
  • Required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries actuarial exams.
  • At least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Associate Actuary:
  • Requires a BS/BA degree.
  • ASA required from the Society of Actuaries.
  • At least 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
