  • Active role in IFRS 17 project team.
  • Review and develop understanding of new IFRS 17 Standard.
  • Support Group Accounting Policy development from a more operational stand point.
  • Develop IFRS 17 guidance for LBUs.
  • Supporting local business units with any local IFRS 17 requests e.g. regulatory or accounting body related.
  • Upskilling LBUs on IFRS 17, delivering / assisting with preparation of training materials.
  • Implementation preparation - in particular, refinement and testing of high level solution, detailed solution design, development of IFRS 17 management information.
  • Drive variety of projects to gain a more in-depth understand of the Standard before build.
  • Design future management information and analysis required.
  • Consider wider impacts e.g. Tax, dividends, etc.
  • Sharing the solution design with LBUs and identifying and resolving potential implementation issues, e.g. process improvements necessary to meet the IFRS 17 working day timetable.
  • You will also manage IFRS 17 delivery in BAU.
  • Assist with the management of transitioning the overall actuarial responsibilities for IFRS 17 to BAU, both at Regional Head Office and in the LBUs.
  • Degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Significant knowledge of the life insurance industry.
  • 10+ years actuarial experience within a life insurance company or professional services firm.
  • A demonstrable interest in IFRS 17; Solvency II and/or European Embedded Value knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant existing business processes would be beneficial.
  • A good understand of messaging actuarial results desirable.
  • Ability to speak one or more Asian languages desirable but not required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills with strong verbal and interpersonal abilities.
  • Technically strong with excellent attention to detail.
  • A team player with ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is expected.
  • Knowledge of Prophet would be an asset but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working with uncertainty, highly adaptable.
