RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the delivery lead for key project/initiatives within the application domain, or act as the lead over a work stream in a multifaceted program.
  • Plan overall capacity for the team supporting this domain space and partner with their Head of Application Delivery and Business Engagement Leads to optimize capacity against forecasted demand.
  • Lead a team of BA's in partnering with the business to elicit business requirement needs, and then represent and document these requirements into requirement specifications for implementation.
  • Lead the capture, review and update business requirements and communicate to team members. Produce and certify deliverables including but not exclusive to:
  • Business Capability Matrix and other detailed requirements documentation as required.
  • Business rules to be captured in metadata layer.
  • Communication and training materials.
  • Solution Architecture.
  • Test Plan and Strategy.
  • Serve as the solution architect for their application domain, working with the Lead Architect and Technical Architect as well as other Domain Leads. Establish high level design and provide guidance to the delivery teams to follow for the project/initiative/application. Assess and lead the review of the technical deliverables during the design phase of a project.
  • Leverage and lead sourcing vendor/s for delivery. Ensure sourcing vendors provide services in accordance with the agreed scope & service level agreement for the given project/initiative, meeting design standards, meeting performance metrics, including key performance indicators, user satisfaction targets, operating level agreements.
  • Help manage technical dependencies across delivery streams throughout projects/initiatives. Coordinate and manage the integration of capabilities into existing production environments - as well as technical dependencies with other development teams, infrastructure, security, etc.
  • Participate in the introduction and change control process of a new application or capability.
  • Optimize artifacts, processes, and tools used by the team through the software development lifecycle for delivery of work within the domain. This includes but is not limited to requirement/design standards, use of TFS, frameworks, and various accelerators.
  • Support the delivery of the Business Architecture by partnering with stakeholders and functional lead/s to identify business process issues and capability needs. Support the delivery of the technical architecture and roadmap - establishing high level technology direction for applications / assets within the domain.
  • Ensure their Application Domain is performant and stable by: analyzing and tuning application performance, supportability, and manageability. Frame and sponsor improvement initiatives across the IT organization.
  • Liaise between technical and non-technical resource team members to answer day to day business questions either directly or indirectly as supported by the Business Leads and SMEs.
  • Conduct walkthroughs with project team members and business leads as needed.
  • Promote change management principles with executives, senior leaders, managers and supervisors to influence, build relationships, and manage resistance.
  • Provide support during end user training, prior to production deployments.
  • Mentor/coach resources to improve performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in P&C Insurance industry and business analysis preferred.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience defining, designing, developing, and implementing complex integration business solutions.
  • Strong leadership capability with a focus on conflict resolution and managing difficult stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in the technology and business domain they support.
  • Experience in full Software Development Life of project development including requirements, design, coding, testing & implementation.
  • Significant hands-on experience in large scale Risk & Actuarial systems implementation projects with demonstrable experience in structured system development lifecycle processes, i.e. Waterfall, Agile etc.
  • Experience implementing Risk and Actuarial Solutions and knowledge of RMS, AIR, Remetrica, ResQ and Advantage.
  • Experience developing projects related to multi-tier, web, console applications, Windows Services, and Windows Forms using software technologies like Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5, C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, MVC, AJAX, Web API, AngularJS, WCF, Visual Studio, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Oracle, JSON, jQuery, Azure, Azure Machine Learning, R Programming, Tableau.
  • Experience leading work efforts vendors, system integrators, and/ or in a managed service environment.
  • Experience developing technical documentation including storyboarding, business requirements, use cases and presentations.
