RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and assist the actuarial team in the performance of pricing and Capital & Exposure Management.
  • Assisting the senior actuaries in the day to day updates of the current internal capital model and preparation of reports from the models used.
  • Assisting with the development of capital allocation and portfolio optimization,
  • Pricing inward catastrophe contracts using vendor catastrophe models.
  • Managing and analyzing the model comparison studies.
  • Drafting results reports for the Chief Actuary.
  • Other ad hoc duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Progress toward becoming a Qualified Actuary.
  • Experience in pricing commercial insurance or reinsurance in the Bermuda market.
  • Experience working with catastrophe models, specifically RMS and AIR models.
  • Experience working with DFA software such as Remetrica, Igloo or Similar.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the insurance, reinsurance and financial markets as well as being a lateral thinker.
  • Possess excellent technical and computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Access and SQL.
  • Knowledge of ERM principles.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and travel overseas when required.
