  • Business requirement definition, data cleansing, developing and maintaining databases, testing and quality controlling, web scraping, modeling and visualization amongst others.
  • Work with internal and external parties to set and define data requirements.
  • Development and maintenance of databases and data sets used in the product development and pricing process.
  • Data cleansing, testing and validation.
  • Creation of new insights and knowledge based on thorough and deep statistical analysis of data.
  • Support experience and data analysis to support the Japan pricing team in setting assumptions for new product pricing.
  • Extract and analyze data to fulfill regular or ad hoc requests.
  • Work with internal data scientists on more advanced statistical analysis e.g. predictive analysis on an ad hoc project basis.
  • Development of reports, presentations and data visualizations to clearly articulate results and data insights.
  • Communicate results of analysis with various stakeholders as and when required.
  • Advanced PC and technical skills, including web scraping and statistical programs via CUI, spreadsheets, SQL and database applications.
  • Ability to develop/administer databases.
  • Ability to explain about a model/structure.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, participate in department/team projects and balance detail with departmental objectives and effectively communicate findings with management.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of PC system environment, Web and Cloud.
  • Japanese - Native level.
  • Preferred:
  • Connection to a society of data engineers/scientists.
  • Proven abilities with Cython, Spark and GPGPU.
  • Investigative, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge in statistics and/or math.
  • Knowledge of actuarial concepts including mortality, morbidity, and persistency studies.
  • Knowledge of life, health, and/or annuity products.
  • Knowledge of insurance risk analysis is advantageous.
