RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consult with leaders in various business units to understand their informational needs. Prioritize initiatives with them and construct action plans to execute and deliver the required files/reports/analytics artifacts.
  • Create and maintain BI best practice processes for quality and timely information delivery.
  • Innovate new ways of managing, transforming, validating and presenting data.
  • Apply quality assurance best practices to all work products.
  • Manage a team of Business Intelligence professionals, including recruiting, work assignment and performance management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry with a focus in one or more of Business Intelligence, Data Management, Actuarial Science.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience building, leading and managing high performing teams.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • General understanding of Property and Casualty insurance concepts including pricing, underwriting, claims management and broker management. Previous actuarial experience would be an asset.
  • Experience across the full range of insurance systems, databases and business intelligence tools; publishing and presenting information in an engaging way.
  • Past experience with any or all of SAS / R / Cognos / Tableau / Pentaho would be an asset.
  • Business and data requirements gathering and QA testing process.
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation.
  • A proven track record of strategic thought leadership.
