RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define the vision and develop the road map for predictive analytics strategy across with division with an initial focus on leveraging analytics to drive pricing sophistication and lead matrixed teams to implement the strategy/road map.
  • Work with stakeholders to obtain a greater understanding of the business needs beyond actuarial and identify and promote analytics solutions that improve profitability.
  • Ensure successful completion of the analysis, evaluation and modeling of potential solutions using predictive analytical methods and processes, both as an individual contributor and project leader.
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain databases and programs to manage data analysis efforts.
  • Lead transformation of SM to an advanced analytics-centric organization by advocating and supporting change, training technical and non-technical staff on predictive analytics and its uses.
  • Continually identify opportunities for process efficiency and improvements through use of predictive analytics.
  • Act as liaison with group predictive analytic/modeling teams, ensuring that capabilities and priorities are considered.
  • Consult with clients on advanced analytics solutions, potentially including development and implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial or related field. Masters and/or Doctoral degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in insurance and/or reinsurance with 5+ years data and analytics experience.
  • Expertise in applying predictive analytics in primary insurance space.
  • Working knowledge of R, SQL, or SAS programming languages preferred.
  • Prior experience and success in driving data and analytics programs through lifecycle.
  • Strong analytics and problem-solving capabilities required, including advanced skills in statistical analysis.
  • Deep experience using business intelligence, data mining, modeling and predictive analytics tools.
  • Actuarial experience a plus.
  • Leadership skills and experience working with senior executives.
  • Ability to lead, manage and multi-task a variety of projects from start to finish.
  • Tech savviness and a willingness to experiment with and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to think strategically and function tactically.
  • Exceptional communication skills that energize and engage colleagues at all levels, and the ability to convey a vision and solutions that ultimately impact the end client.
  • Ability to introduce and drive innovative ideas and processes within established environments.
