RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading the delivery of consulting projects.
  • Managing the work streams of various audit engagements spanning from life during our peak audit season .
  • Developing innovative approaches to improve current internal processes by leveraging emerging technology such as Analytics and Robotics Process Automation software.
  • Building rapport with client stakeholders, leading external meetings and being comfortable presenting to different audiences.
  • Staying up to date on regulatory regimes such as IFRS 17, MCT, LICAT, DCAT, ORSA, etc. and leading internal initiatives to develop solutions for our clients.
  • Demonstrating delegation and leadership skills by working with and managing analysts and co-op students .
  • Supporting the sales pursuit process by working with Managers/Senior Managers on proposals and external presentation materials.
  • Being self-driven and taking ownership of work products .
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Range of 3 to 5 years of Life working experience in a dynamic environment within an insurance company, reinsurer, insurance broker or accounting/consulting firm.
  • Demonstrates strong progress to becoming a credentialed actuary; near or recent ASA/ACIA/ACAS is preferable.
  • Proficiency/mastery within preferably two of the following “traditional” actuarial disciplines: pricing, reserving, modelling, capital management or analytics .
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a leading University in the fields Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related field .
  • Proficiency in a couple of actuarial software or programming languages.
  • Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office.
  • Aptitude to synthesize quantitative analysis/concepts and effectively relay this information to audiences of varying backgrounds in an engaging manner.
  • Ability to build rapport within the practice and deliver high-quality work under time constraints.
  • Demonstrates strong written/verbal communication skills and is comfortable presenting in front of client stakeholders and internal leadership.
  • Shows initiative in learning about the latest developments in the insurance industry and helps build innovative go-to-market solutions for our clients.
  • Overseas working experience and speaking French/Spanish are a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally is a plus.
