RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and assist probabilistic financial analysis for clients’ catastrophe and non-catastrophe reinsurance programme, mainly by using ReMetrica, company’s proprietary probabilistic financial analysis software.
  • Manage analyses and projects for the team with client from start to finish; responsible and accountable for quality and accuracy of all analyses performed; liaise with local and global colleagues where necessary, produce high quality reports in timeframes agreed upon and communicate the results to clients in easy-to-understand manner.
  • Prepare documents as required to communicate analytics work to internal and external clients; continuously improve on reports and presentations for more effective communication.
  • Develop financial models to analyze and evaluate financial projections and various reinsurance strategies.
  • Perform peer review of colleagues’ actuarial analysis.
  • Lead and assist ReMetrica and Economic Capital Modelling related projects.
  • ReMetrica marketing activities including workshops and demos for potential users.
  • Model development, model review, and facilitate Economic Capital Modelling related projects.
  • Ad-hoc projects.
  • Take initiative on internal projects to improve processes, develop new products, or bring new services to our clients.
  • Lead trainings on risk modelling and risk management related topics for internal and external clients.
  • Participate in corporate practice groups and committees related to actuarial analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Natural Science, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 3 - 8 years of experience in financial analysis, statistical analysis, data analysis and/or related work at insurance company, reinsurance company, reinsurance intermediary, consulting firm, or financial institution.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan or equivalent qualification in other countries, or strong mathematical background.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience in the following an advantage:
  • DFA software experience.
  • Relevant re/insurance pricing and underwriting experience.
  • Programming in VBA, Python, R, and SQL.
  • Regulation and Financial Accounting.
  • Fluent Japanese and English in communication.
  • Self-learner, fast-learner, and problem-solver.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Curiosity and Flexibility to tackle various kinds of tasks.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic, and global work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
