RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build multivariate claims and fees cost models for household and motor
  • Create geographical and vehicle classification factors using geospatial smoothing techniques
  • Peer review multivariate claims, fees cost and geospatial models delivered by Risk Pricing Analysts
  • Accountable for regular refresh and monitoring of peril trend assumptions used in burning cost process
  • Support analyses as required to form current year reserving opinion
  • Envision and test new rating factors from existing data
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent mathematical skills. Degree in a mathematics related discipline or evidence of equivalent proficiency.
  • Experience of Towers Watson software (EMBlem, Classifier, Radar) and sound understanding of statistical methods used within these packages
  • Ability to lead projects to deliver multivariate claims and fees costs models
  • Experience peer reviewing models built by others
  • Thorough understanding of personal lines products from a pricing perspective
  • Good programming skills in at least one language (SAS, R, SQL etc)
  • Ability to grasp the significance and meaning of a range of technical and complex issues
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Experience of price optimisation techniques an advantage
  • Good presentation, influencing and persuasiveness skills
