RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Appointed Actuary in the setting and monitoring of actuarial liabilities for all legal entities.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses of actuarial liabilities including data management, identifying anomalies and addressing possible issues.
  • Assist in monthly financial reporting and recording of unpaid claim liabilities Support Finance for regulatory and Group financial reporting.
  • Participate in discussions relating to reserve analyses and the effect on financial results.
  • Perform claim analytics and diagnostics to support claim/actuarial discussions on valuation assumptions.
  • Develop, design, and implement improvements and automation to the existing reserving processes.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, compliant with documentation policies.
  • Increase business and technical knowledge through frequent liaison with colleagues in the business and actuaries in other units.
  • Seek abreast of industry trends, competitive activities, and current best practice with respect to reserving and valuation initiatives and incorporate such knowledge, as appropriate, into evaluation of actuarial liabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University or college degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent technical and computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills. Out-of-the-box thinker, striving for the next innovation.
  • Uncompromising standards on technical expertise and integrity.
  • Ability and willingness to continuously expand knowledge and skills through efforts during and outside of work, with an emphasis on new technical developments as well as leadership techniques.
  • Completion of CAS/SOA exams and solid programming background is an asset.
