RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, develop and oversee the Company’s model risk policy, framework and governance.
  • Partner with IT and model developers to oversee implementation and testing of model changes and oversee potential operational risks.
  • Build out and maintain a robust centralized model inventory and be the primary owner of the database.
  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of model performance and generate alerts when performance metrics breach or when a particular risk increases.
  • Identify the risks that arise from the choice of different models, as well as choice of the different inputs to the models. Provide assessment and recommendation.
  • Develop model risk dashboards to ensure the Operational Risk Committee is kept informed and if actions need to be taken.
  • Design rich data visualizations to effectively communicate complex ideas and analysis to the Company’s leadership team.
  • Innovate and find creative ways to source new data to support credit risk management and modeling efforts, leveraging structured and unstructured data using Big Data technologies and working closely with business leaders to identify actionable opportunities.
  • Accountable for improving the Company’s overall data quality and accuracy. Ensure consistent definitions are being used across the Company.
  • Understands how the Company’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong understanding of model governance and model validation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in key econometric and statistical technics.
  • Experience with data architecture, data mining and data integration.
  • Ability to conduct extensive data research and handle large datasets.
  • Strong communication skills and capable of expressing ideas clearly and concisely, written and verbal.
  • Resourceful, self-starter, proactive, results-oriented and a team player.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify risks and recommend solutions.
  • Advanced degree in highly quantitative field.
  • 7+ year experience and Financial industry knowledge.
  • Proficient with the use of advanced statistical software and capabilities.
  • Experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or applied statistics .
  • Familiarity working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Modeling, Operational Risk.
