Insurance Organization
  • Serve as the Appointed Reserve Specialist and provide subject matter expertise on structured reinsurance.
  • Lead role in the preparation of Bermuda Regulatory filings.
  • Monitor the adequacy of risk management policies and ERM’s controls along with the company’s current/prospective solvency positions.
  • Collaborate with our Corporate Head Office to support affiliated assumed reinsurance requirements.
  • Conduct quarterly reporting to support to the Head of reinsurance for Board and governance Officers meetings.
  • Support individual life reinsurance actuarial, treaty underwriting, administration and internal reinsurance clearing house functions, including ceded reinsurance programs for individual life’s high net worth business.
  • Conduct quarterly reporting and periodic experience studies for reinsurance treaties optimization.
  • Monitor the evolving regulatory environments that affects business to ensure the Company complies with all financial reporting and capital adequacy regulations, plan for potential changes and look out for new potential growth opportunities and process improvements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities related to reinsurance.
  • Serve as liaison to the reinsurance administration team, in support of new treaties and amendments.
  • Work on cross-functional teams for reinsurance or other projects, often serving as project lead.
  • Manage, develop and coach junior staff.
  • Ability to work in Bermuda.
  • FSA designation.
  • Minimum of years’ experience in the life insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, enterprise risk management, including affiliated and third-party structured reinsurance.
  • Strong individual life insurance pricing and product knowledge, including traditional risk transfer reinsurance.
  • Understanding of international regulatory capital frameworks such as US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Bermuda is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Is a self-starter - can determine what needs to be done, generates innovative solutions.
  • Manages complexity and ambiguity well.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
