RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop deep understanding of Statutory, GAAP and Tax valuation standards.
  • Implement emerging valuation standards such as PBR and anticipated new GAAP guidance.
  • Implement the up-coming NLG UL, Indexed UL, and UL-LTC Combo products in valuation/modeling systems, including but not limited to MG ALFA and Poly.
  • Execute and oversee monthly and quarterly valuation processes while continuously seeking opportunities for improvements.
  • Develop tools to validate and analyze valuation results.
  • Create and maintain process controls, model documentation and governance. Respond to auditors and regulators.
  • Participate in the enterprise-level modernization initiative regarding data, modeling, analytics and reporting processes while advocating valuation considerations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar background requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis.
  • At least four years of Actuarial experience
  • ASA Designation
  • Requires knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods of analysis, company actuarial systems and databases, and their integration; technical facility with leading computer tools and technology
  • Knowledgeable of company operations, products, systems, and actuarial methodologies.
  • Proficient or able to lead in Microsoft Office products (including VBA within Access and Excel), programming languages and Actuarial models
  • Basic level of command skills, strategic agility, business perspective, and accounting
  • Proficient level of delegation, motivating others perspective, dealing with ambiguity, customer focus, and drive for results
  • Mastery level of problem solving, learning on the fly, and leveraging system capabilities.
