RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent is expected to provide the knowledge and expertise for Organization to develop the reinsurance of longevity risks in Canada and to provide the expertise and creativity for Organization to help clients reduce their exposure to longevity risks and/or develop innovative Longevity products and benefits.
- Understand the Canadian Longevity Benefits market and products.
- Maintain a dialogue with leading insurers, brokers, pension consultants and other thought leaders in the Annuity market to learn about the opportunities and under-served or un-served needs.
- Lead the research, analysis and development of new products and solutions for Longevity Benefits.
- Establish reinsurance pricing bases for Longevity Benefits.
- Advise and support client companies on Longevity Benefits products, pricing bases and risk management.
- Perform pricing and risk analysis for Longevity risks.
- Provide competitive and profitable quotes with the support of actuarial analysts.
- Leverage Longevity expertise existing within Organization Canada, Organization US and Organization International.
- Keep abreast of regulations and accounting developments in order to:
- Identify potential business opportunities or threats.
- Ensure Organization is anticipating the effect and taking appropriate action.
- Speak on, write articles about and get involved in Industry work on Longevity and be recognized as an expert.
- Provide excellent customer service and reinforce Organization’s partnership approach with its clients, particularly in the area of Longevity Benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- FCIA designation or near FCIA accreditation.
- A minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of Annuity or Pension experience.
- Living Benefits pricing and product design experience.
- Experience with one, or preferably more, of the following:
- Payout Annuity business.
- Pension Plan risk management.
- Segregated Funds Annuity guarantees.
- Strong Customer focus.
- Self-starter and self-motivated team player.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to positively influence change.
- Advanced technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of AXIS preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
