RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the Catastrophe portfolio by underwriting, pricing, marketing and managing a European property catastrophe portfolio with goals of maximizing the expected profitability and risk-adjusted return on capital.
  • Manage existing relationships with clients and brokers while also developing new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in the development of the European strategy as well as the Global Property Catastrophe underwriting and portfolio diversification strategies.
  • Routinely analyze contracts and ensure appropriate pricing and utilization of capacities.
  • Manage the underwriting process and the internal interaction with underwriters, catastrophe analysts and actuaries.
  • Perform contract negotiations with clients and brokers.
  • Routinely perform market analyses to identify market inefficiencies and develop strategies and products.
  • Assist in the further development of the Company's reputation as a first tier, world‐class property catastrophe reinsurer.
  • Manage and handle marketing activities.
  • Other duties as determined by management, including but not limited to special projects, integrations, global projects etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience, ideally with a property catastrophe underwriting background.
  • University graduate with a degree in finance, economics or natural sciences with advanced degree of ACII or CPCU designation preferred.
  • Preference for a candidate with German language skills.
  • Strong networking skills and relationships with clients and brokers in Europe.
  • Willingness to undertake international business travel as the role requires.
  • Ability to independently undertake marketing activities with clients and brokers with a proven track record in business development.
  • Familiarity with catastrophe models and other analytical tools, preference for a candidate with strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information.
