RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with internal and external partners to develop new solutions for existing markets and new markets for existing solutions. 20%
  • Assess solutions for desirability and suitability for Company and the client, and communicate the benefits to the client. Build financial models to simulate possible outcomes and assess the risk and reward relative to our best estimate. 20%
  • Structure and negotiate the detailed terms of a deal, often in liaison with other professionals including lawyers, accountants, and investment professionals. Work with internal and external team members to negotiate contracts, obtain necessary approvals, document transaction, ensure underwriting requirements are met, and enable effective inforce management and surveillance. 20%
  • Effectively monitor and report on inforce transactions to support regulatory, IFRS and other required regulations. Ensure that any embedded options in the underlying contracts are exercised efficiently and documentation is communicated effectively to allow efficient Inforce Management and revalue of inforce transactions. 10%
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned. 20%
  • Earn and maintain professional credentials, participate in industry-related meetings and conferences as well as informal learning opportunities to continuously build and sharpen skill set. 10%
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate Degree in math, actuarial science, finance, accounting or similar.
  • FSA designation or equivalent skills.
  • 3 years minimum experience.
  • General knowledge of corporate finance, probability, and statistics.
  • General knowledge of investment, life insurance and capital market products and markets.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional decision making.
  • Demonstrated customer-centric focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and analyze the results of complex financial projection models.
  • 2 years minimum experience with MoSes, MG-ALFA or similar actuarial modelling software.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate creative ideas and track record of bringing ideas to reality.
  • Ability to understand and analyze actuarial memos, contracts and other technical documents.
  • Ability to create effective technical communications.
  • Customer-centric attitude.
  • Data fluency with knowledge of data structures and tools.
