RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the development of new solutions. 20%
  • Build, run and analyze financial models of the transaction under a variety of scenarios as part of the underwriting process. Review term sheets and reinsurance transaction documents for consistency with models. Work with internal and external team members to obtain necessary approvals, document transaction, ensure underwriting requirements are met, and enable effective inforce management and surveillance. 35%
  • Effectively monitor and report on inforce transactions to support regulatory, IFRS and other required regulations. Ensure that any embedded options in the underlying contracts are exercised efficiently and documentation is communicated effectively to allow efficient Inforce Management and revalue of inforce transactions. 10%
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned. 20%
  • Employees in the Actuarial Development Program must pass at least 2 exams every 2 years. 15%
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • ASA designation or equivalent skills.
  • 2 years minimum experience in the life insurance / reinsurance industry.
  • General knowledge of corporate finance, probability, and statistics.
  • General knowledge of investment, life insurance and capital market products and markets.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and analyze the results of complex financial projection models.
  • 2 years minimum experience with MoSes, MG-ALFA or similar actuarial modelling software.
  • Ability to understand and analyze actuarial memos, contracts and other technical documents.
  • Ability to create effective technical communications.
  • Customer-centric attitude.
  • Data fluency with knowledge of data structures and tools.
