RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advocating for improvements to regulatory risk information by participating in industry and regulatory discussions relating the revised life insurance financial reporting disclosures.
  • Implementing changes to the industry risk analysis for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for insurance contracts.
  • Consulting and providing advice and insights on company risk assessments of life insurance companies considering strategic, market, credit, insurance, and operational risks using information from regulatory filings.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting.
  • Qualified Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant.
  • Must be fluently bilingual (French and English) - verbal and written.
  • 5 - 10 years of audit or accounting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong results orientation, initiative and creativity.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and SQL an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills including the ability to communicate technical material using plain English.
  • Results Orientation - ability to set and meet specific objectives, deadlines and commitments.
  • Planning & Organizing - ability to schedule and plan for multiple projects while adjusting for changing priorities.
  • Interpersonal Relations - conduct internal and external business with integrity and respect in a team environment.

  • Other - comfortable in a technology based environment (MS Windows, Office, web based programs).
