RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the life-cycle of the company’s flood models, including design, development, release and post-release support. This will require analytics and interaction with both the company and client-based scientists, engineers and actuaries
  • Gather clients feedback and market information through model specialists, client facing, or from direct technical meetings with clients
  • Support the tracking of model development progress
  • Support the production of relevant literature and presentation material about our models
  • Support sales opportunities and client model-related requests
  • Support cross-discipline interactions
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hold a MSc or PhD in hydrology or closely related field such as hydraulic engineering or environmental science
  • Excellent/strong level of proficiency in data analysis, manipulation and mapping tools (R, MATLAB, GIS, SQL or similar) is expected
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to understand pragmatic business needs
  • Excellent communication skills and versatility in engaging in technical subjects to a varied client base
  • Candidate must possess a consultative approach to client interactions and ability to manage conflicting inputs
  • Have an interest in all aspects of climate hazards, including their link to climate change and the impact on society and the insurance sector
  • Be an excellent team player with a high-degree of self-motivation while able to work independently
  • Must have good English written and oral communications skills. Knowledge of another European language is an advantage
  • Some travel required (within Europe and overseas)
  • Risk management, CAT modelling, and insurance experiences are a distinct advantage but not essential
  • Project management experience is a distinct advantage but not essential
