  • Develop internal data expertise to ensure the execution of processes necessary to prepare data and deliver weekly/monthly reports in a timely fashion.
  • Supports the management of analytical and reporting data in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ability to interact and facilitate discussions with actuarial, finance, product and executive leadership to provide solutions to complex business questions and to ensure consistency and transparency of business results.
  • Demonstrate initiative through recommending and implementing process improvements that further the long-term data and analytics strategy of the business unit.
  • Proficiency in new end-user business intelligence software and technologies, including Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and Power BI.
  • Develop automation and system documentation to ensure process repeatability.
  • Gather and analyze requirements on new reporting initiatives.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests as necessary.
  • Apply Best Practices and Data Governance to database and reporting solutions.
  • Perform liaison function between department and technology teams in the development of the MIS strategies and other long-term initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open-mindedness.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant analytical field.
  • Two to five year’s analyst experience including the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Pro-active, inquisitive attitude. Seeks to improve processes and reports to facilitate better decision making.
  • Experience building reports or analytical solutions in an application such as MS Excel/Power BI, Hyperion, OBIEE, and Tableau.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server or MS Access Databases, SQL in Oracle or Python.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience in working with Visual Basic and Macros.
  • Understanding of insurance product and underwriting concepts is a plus.
