  • Management and operations of the company’s economic capital framework (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process) and dividend policy, and owning related policies, guidelines and standards.
  • Management and operations of the company’s limits framework including quantifying risk exposure relative to limits, and owning related policies, guidelines and standards.
  • Developing a framework for risk quantification of enterprise-wide non-financial risks.
  • Execution of the enterprise-wide stress testing for financial and non-financial risks.
  • Oversees the development, management and/or oversight of risk models for all products/programs, and non-financial risk types (e.g. operational and strategic risk) including but not limited to:
  • Economic capital models;
  • Credit risk models (Probability of Default and Loss Given Default);
  • Insurance risk models;
  • Strategic and operational risk models;
  • Other non-financial risk models as required.
  • Oversees the internal capital target setting process and internal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP) as well as the development and management of capital management and dividend policies, standards/guidelines and standards.
  • Development and oversight of risk-based performance management and pricing methodologies, and related policies, guidelines and standards.
  • Development and implementation of a centralized risk analytics function to provide analytics support across all products and risk types (financial and non-financial).
  • Oversee a centralized portfolio analytics function to provide an overall view of portfolio risk and quantifying risk exposure relative to limits for all risk types and functions at the enterprise/portfolio level.
  • Enhancement and operations of risk data governance function including certification, aggregation, analysis and forecasting of financial and non-financial risk data.
  • Oversight of market and liquidity risks, including monitoring and reporting on the Company’s exposure.
  • Strong collaboration and engagement with senior management, as well as various functions across the company, to ensure close linkages between capital management, strategic planning, and business execution.
  • A minimum of 15 years of related work experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of successfully leading quantitative/analytical teams responsible for multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Math, Business or related field.
  • Strong risk management background with an emphasis in quantitative analytics.
  • Practical experience in the management of risk from a variety of sources or segments of business.
  • Ability to proactively identify creative solutions for taking on and managing risk that support the strategic plan and enable the business to develop unique, differentiated value propositions.
  • Technically strong with numeracy and financial awareness, yet able to see the bigger picture and not get stuck in the detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing risk solutions that also consider sound industry practices
  • A broad understanding of trends in the financial industry, insurance and regulatory environment.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels of the organization. Ability to present ideas in a clear, succinct and organized manner.
  • Masters in actuarial science, economics, finance or mathematics.
  • Relevant credentials: CFA, PRM, FRM, ASA/FSA, MBA.
