RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to achieving objectives for retirement income focused products by developing and nurturing relationships with plan sponsors, consultants and advisors, educating them on group retirement income solutions and working with them and their executive to implement appropriate solutions for their workplace plan
  • Identify prospects and monitor progress and status for all existing clients and prospects who may be candidates for solutions that can drive better outcomes for their employees
  • Be intimately familiar with the capital accumulation plan landscape in Canada and other countries, including the factors driving healthy plan designs and improved retirement readiness, the solutions being used, the level of market activity and new product innovation
  • Contribute to achieving the group retirement objective of creating a culture of retirement income focused on influencing changes to create healthier plan designs and improved employee retirement readiness by supporting the development of relevant articles, presentations and thought leadership research
  • Oversee the implementation of income focused solutions for a workplace plan as the subject matter expert and be available to provide periodic updates to the pension or investment committee of a plan sponsor and their consultant/advisor
  • Present reporting to an existing client/prospect and make recommendations for potential plan design changes that will contribute to improved retirement outcomes
  • Identify and assess opportunities for new and modified products, including contributing to feasibility studies and business cases in partnership with Product Development colleagues
  • Provide recommendations for enhancements to existing income focused solutions based on interactions and feedback involving plan sponsors, consultants and advisors
  • Work with plan sponsors and consultants to create customized solutions, where appropriate, by tailoring core solution
  • Work with a virtual team of professionals in marketing, investments, actuarial, operations, business development, and product development to achieve objectives
  • Champion income focused solutions and healthy plan designs that contribute to improved retirement readiness within the company
  • Educate various stakeholders on the value and importance of changing the conversation from wealth to income and how it can make a difference for employees, employers and group retirement
  • Solid project management and strong influencing skills
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10 or more years of experience working with defined contribution or defined benefit retirement plans, including extensive plan design experience
  • Deep understanding of target date investment products
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain ideas and concepts in plain language
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills in order to nurture and grow relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and business partners
  • Experience presenting to employer Pension or Investment Committees
  • CFA designation
  • FCIA designation
  • Fully fluent in English; Bilingual English/French would be an asset
  • Background in liability based investing
  • Strong fixed income background
