RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Portfolio Monitoring and Operations- 50%:
  • Lead weekly cash management process, coordinate investment orders to invest available cash, and support multi-disciplined project team on organizational cash process improvement.
  • Analyze the investment portfolios that back liability and surplus accounts including gathering information from various sources, organizing data, manipulating spreadsheets, and presenting results and recommendations.
  • Review portfolio investment parameters and client investment reporting to ensure that investment metrics are monitored and in compliance with established targets, including asset mix, interest rate risk, credit quality, liquidity, and new product pricing assumptions.
  • Perform daily operational activities as needed.
  • Company-wide initiatives and project management - 50%:
  • Review legal agreements to understand and document portfolio structure and related restrictions and requirements.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional projects supporting specific business and investment needs.
  • Conduct research to evaluate new investment opportunities and ensure proper implementation taking into consideration accounting, actuarial, compliance and other constraints.
  • Anticipate customer needs and participate in identifying solutions, interpreting internal/external business issues and recommending best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor’s degree is required with a focus in business or a quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Progress towards or completion of MBA/FSA/CFA designation with 5-8 years related experience is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work across the functional areas mentioned above and have the desire to expand knowledge in accounting and legal/regulatory.
  • Adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities and changes in business conditions.
  • Working knowledge of derivatives.
  • Middle office experience is a huge plus.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet analysis and excel programming.
