RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the quarterly reserve review and collaborate with the members to understand differences in varying opinions.
  • Support Global Specialty ERM process, with focus on reserving and underwriting risk.
  • Perform ROE analyses of recent historical years in support of planning discussions.
  • Provide analytical support and recommendations for prospective reinsurance decisions to regional teams and Global Specialty management.
  • Effectively communicate results of analyses to various internal stakeholders and auditors.
  • Implement timely and practical solutions to complex problems to support team’s objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience required.
  • ACAS or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal, statistics, claims, sales, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with others.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor peers.
  • Strong MS Office Excel skills required. VBA, ResQ, Igloo and/or R experience also a plus.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and relationships across organizational lines.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively express technical actuarial and statistical concepts to non-technical individuals internal and external to the organization.
  • Advanced decision making, problem solving and analytical skills.
