RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviewing and owning the DI line of business actuarial financial balances.
  • Overseeing DI financial reporting (GAAP/Statutory/Tax).
  • Maintaining a controlled environment during quarter end processing.
  • Engaging in control improvements.
  • Guiding direct report in the usage of PolySystems/GGY AXIS.
  • Building out existing exhibits, analytics and metrics to better understand financial drivers and source of earnings.
  • Communicating and explaining quarterly results, as well as valuation processes.
  • Expanding technical skill sets in GGY AXIS, PolySystems, Microsoft Office, VBA and SQL.
  • Understanding product features for in-force DI products and riders.
  • Working with administration system on any changes, including testing of extracts.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or other relevant financial/mathematical field of study.
  • Fellow, Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
  • Member, American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) designation.
  • Seven or more years of experience in an actuarial role in the life insurance industry.
  • Experience with PolySystems, GGY AXIS, Microsoft Office, VBA and SQL.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in writing and in public speaking.
