RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitors emerging regulation that impacts the Valuation of insurance and investment products on the IFRS, US GAAP, US Statutory and US Tax bases of accounting.
  • Develops an implementation plan for US Statutory Principle Based Reserves (PBR) and tracks execution to the plan.
  • Communicates and educates department and company-wide senior management on new regulations and impact to company’s financials.
  • Oversees the development of complex actuarial models to comply with new valuation regulations.
  • Ensures valuation complies with actuarial standards and applicable regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or math/statistics required.
  • FSA and MAAA designation required.
  • At least eight years’ experience in either product, valuation, actuarial, or investment departments.
  • Has developed conceptual and practical expertise in Actuarial area; strong actuarial knowledge that is easily shared with peers.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts and analysis to all levels, including senior leadership across the organization.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and VBA.
  • Experience with actuarial projection software such as MG ALFA or AXIS preferred.

  • Ongoing contact with most Financial employees and business areas. Interprets internal customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.
  • Project supervisory responsibilities; allocates work as a team leader.
