RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides guidance and/or review for more junior staff.
  • Delegates work to meet client needs, provide additional technical insight and review results for reasonableness.
  • Typically involved in 4 – 6 projects during the busy season with expectation to teach and train staff on project-specific work.
  • Increased role with clients including external communications, data collection, providing project updates and answering technical actuarial questions.
  • Actuaries with substantial experience are expected to work toward the Milliman Signature Authority designation.
  • Review, organize and analyze statistical data.
  • Develop and utilize actuarial models.
  • Analyze healthcare costs and utilization data
  • Manage client relationships.
  • Supervise a number of actuarial students.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors or better in Actuarial Science or related field.
  • 5 years: At least five years of experience, with significant experience in the healthcare field.
  • 2 years: Must have two years of Medicare Advantage bid experience.
  • All candidates should have results-driven orientation, good writing and speaking skills, proficiency with spreadsheets and database applications (Microsoft Office products).
