RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation of actuarial valuations for pension plan funding and accounting.
  • Review of portions of work related to actuarial valuations.
  • Review data reconciliation and reconciliation of plan assets prepared by other members of team.
  • Review of pension benefit calculations and other pension administration.
  • Attends meetings, drafts reports, presentations and plan materials for clients.
  • Maintains relationships with clients.
  • Works with current and prospective clients in order to grow business.
  • Works on internal development projects.
  • Takes direction from, and supports, senior team members.
  • Assists with special projects and tasks, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in actuarial science or mathematics.
  • Has or is in the process of obtaining FCIA designation.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with pension plans.
  • Strong ambition to pursue a career as a consulting actuary.
  • In-depth, detailed knowledge of actuarial valuation process.
  • Very good knowledge of pension plan legislation and actuarial standards of practice.
  • Combination of excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional client focus with strong professional acumen.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • An excellent understanding of personal computers and software, particularly MS Word, Excel, and programming.
