RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare quarterly reserving actuarial analysis for a wide range of commercial lines in the U.S. and Europe including but not limited to Workers Compensation, General Liability, Hospital Liability and Warranty.
  • Support SEC and BMA regulatory filings and management reporting.
  • Monitor premium and loss activities and coordinate with Finance and Underwriting teams to ensure the accuracy of cession statements.
  • Prepare data inputs and reconciliation in support of reserving and capital modeling process.
  • Support the Bermuda production team in the account pricing process as needed.
  • Maintain and develop actuarial database, reports and tools for the actuarial department.
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting and tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or business (actuarial exams may serve as a replacement for specific degree).
  • Minimum 4 actuarial exams.
  • Actively pursuing FCAS or FIA designation.
  • Minimum 5 years actuarial experience with minimum 3 years reserving experience.
  • Property and Casualty insurance experience required.
  • Reinsurance experience preferred but not required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Access).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to details.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and see a project through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to communicate actuarial information to other disciplines.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and on a team.
