RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Portfolio Analysis: Provide high quality, robust analyses of the client portfolios.
  • Understand and explain related data quality issues and secondary characteristics effects on modeled results.
  • Documentation of Analyses: On each project provide complete, clear documentation on project scope, assumptions, data edits, analyses completed and results provided to brokers and clients.
  • Catastrophe Modeling Software: Understand the differences in and run analyses in the AIR and RMS catastrophe modeling software products licensed by the company.
  • Portfolio and Model Evaluation: Provide analysis of changes and variances in the modeled exposure due to exposure changes and model changes.
  • Internal and External Communication: Maximize business impact internally and externally through effective communication with brokers, clients, prospects and information systems.
  • Rating Agency Reporting: Complete catastrophe modeling related sections of rating agency reporting forms for clients and prospects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • ~10 years experience who would perform modeling functions but be more interactive with clients and sales people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, economics or other related areas.
  • Must be able to work independently, under tight timeframes and manage multiple projects.
  • Must be detailed oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to work in team environment with excellent communication skills.
  • Training on AIR CATRADER, AIR Touchstone and RMS RiskLink.
  • Understanding of complex insurance and reinsurance structures.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of business software such as MS Excel, Access and SQL.
  • Knowledge of using VBA and ODBC connections a plus.
  • Experience with mapping software (ideally ESRI products) a plus.
  • Occasional travel and overtime as needed.
